Did you know that Friday, August 19 is National Aviation Day?


National Aviation Day was established in 1939 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt and has been celebrated on Orville Wright’s birthday ever since.


Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park


Join us for a walking tour of the neighborhood Orville and Wilbur called home and learn more about Dayton's aviation story. The tour will leave from the Wright-Dunbar Interpretive Center at 10:30 a.m. Make sure to pack some sunscreen and wear your walking shoes! The tour will last 40 minutes and cover about 1/3 mile.


Not interested in the walking tour? Become a Junior Ranger at any of the Interpretive Centers! You can also check out a prairie pack from the Huffman Prairie Flying Field Interpretive Center explore the natural side of the prairie while the flowers are still in bloom!


Whether you want to become a Junior Ranger or go on a walking tour with a ranger, come celebrate with us all day long!
