Horizons Event at Armstrong Air & Space Museum

Saturday, March 15th, 2025:
THE REASON:

For over fifty years now, education has been at the heart of our mission here at the Armstrong Air & Space Museum. Our organization strives everyday to inspire the next generation of explorers, innovators, and problem-solvers. In many regards, education is much like a sunrise. Just as the horizon of a sunrise is the dynamic line where the sky meets the Earth, education is the dynamic process where curiosity meets information, unfolding discovery and illuminating us all. In the spirit of this philosophy, the Armstrong Air & Space Museum is excited to announce our newest event, Horizons.

THE GOAL:

Over the next year, our museum is pledging to support schools and clubs across the area who might not otherwise have the resources available to visit and learn with us. By participating in Horizons, you have the opportunity to help in this cause and make a significant impact on the lives of hundreds of students in economically challenged areas.

THE EVENT:

Horizons will be hosted on Saturday, March 15th, the 59th anniversary of Neil Armstrong's first space mission, Gemini VIII. Guests will have the opportunity to walk around the museum and experience some of the educational programming the museum offers. Beverages and heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served. The night will also feature a number of impressive silent auction items and packages.

THE SPEAKER:

Greg Brown is the Museum Historian at the Armstrong Air & Space Museum in Wapakoneta, OH. His duties include public speaking, historical research related to America’s early space program, exhibit content development, and artifact preservation. Brown is also a military veteran, having served active duty with the United States Air Force as a Missile Security Specialist and in the United States Army in the Military Police Corps. After his years of service and time in the private sector, Brown received his Bachelor of Arts in History.
