First Flight Ceremony

Join in the annual First Flight celebration with Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton Aviation National Historical Park, and National Aviation Heritage Area on Friday, December 16 at 10:00 a.m. in commemoration of the December 17, 1903 event.

The 88th Air Base Wing, Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park and National Aviation Heritage Area will host the event at the Wright Brothers Memorial. The ceremony is open to the public and will feature a flyover and wreath-laying.
